Nouveau riche side will be back in black next season
Bloody hell, Kolo Toure isn’t wasting any time, is he? He’s barely been at Manchester City 24 hours, but here he is posing in the new away kit with fellow newbies Emmanuel Adebayor and Roque Sat Nav Cruz.
As you can see, the new strip is black and yellow. As you can see by the honeycomb pattern in the background and the huge picture of a wasp/bee on their official site, they’re playing on the fact that this colour combination represents danger in the animal kingdom.
It comes out on the 15th, and The Spoiler rather likes it. Do you?

Not a bad one, that. Liverpool and City definitely got the best out of their kit suppliers this season when you look at some of the other awful Adidas/Umbro efforts out there (Chelsea, Everton, we’re looking at you!)

It’s not playing on the fact of danger and it’s not a wasp it’s a bee.
The Bee is a symbol of Manchesters Industrial past. It’s on Manchesters coat of arms.

Agree 100% with Swiss, the bee is a symbol of Manchester and represents the bee hive and worker bee analogy from the industrial revolution, great to see the club are thinking about tradition and what is means to be a proper manc!! I think the PR has been exceptional since the club was taken over, makes me wonder what the hell Paul Tyrell and his oppos were doing before the latest incumbent arrived??

Thanks for the bee/wasp-related correction chaps. The honeycomb should have made it obvious!

I prefer the shirts without the mercenaries in them.

I think it looks good but you can’t go wrong with a black kit. It’s not exactly adventurous, is it?

My lad wants one, and so do his mates - they say its cool and it will sell - from a marketing perspective you could say it hits the mark with the kids and so all i can say is well done - another £30 from my pocket - but at least i’ll be proud seeing him wear it!

Apis Millifera, my bollocks. Etihad’s colour scheme is black and dark gold. Pull the other one, Citeh.

Xabi Alonso has handed a formal request for his transfer from Liverpool.
So, its not far that we see him leave Liverpool. But he will always be remembered in our memories.
