Our secret squirrel digs up a transfer exclusive
According to trusted a Spoiler source - someone within the higher echelons of the game who has given us very accurate transfer tips in the past - Manchester City’s next purchase is likely to be David Bentley.
The source says there is a “70 per cent chance” that the deal will go through.
Spoiler truth-o-meter: The 24-year-old winger isn’t exactly Harry Redknapp’s favourite player, and he is definitely on the looking to move away from White Hart Lane, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see him paraded in sky blue in the coming weeks…

With Wright-Philips and the ever improving Weiss we’re loaded in that position. In order to put himself into Englnd contention I think he might favour a move to a club where he’ll get a game.
I hate him too

would be lucky to get a place on their bench, would not sell him to Villa though as would strengthen a rival team

Maybe Spurs are looking to do a deal involving Bentley to get Martin Petrov. City have got a cracking midfield, I don’t see how Bentley could improve it. Cover for SWP?
I think Petrov will stay at city. He’s had plenty of game time when not injured. He’s very direct, when he gets the ball, you know he’s going straight for goal.

Another unnecessary signing for City. In a years time they will need to offload half of these average players.

My ‘imaginary friend’ tells me you’re a bunch of hacks leaning backwards on your second-hand chairs reading FHM and discussing hair wax and bum-rash.
Only difference between my imaginary friend and yours is… he’s right!

That’s completely untrue, George. No one reads FHM.
