Everton manager in “does thing he said he wouldn’t do” shocker

David Moyes

David Moyes, April 25th:

“We want to keep the base we have, some of the players we have now, to replace them would cost £15-£20million, and so why would we do that, with no guarantee that we could find better?”

David Moyes, April 25th:

“We want to add to this squad and I can assure you that no one we want to keep will leave.”

David Moyes, August 8th:

“The crowd know and understand that what we are doing here is right and we have been very consistent and we have said that Joleon Lescott won’t be sold. There’s not much point me elaborating on that because I have been consistent - he’s not for sale.”

David Moyes, August 15th:

“I have said often enough that Everton are not selling”

Everton FC official website, August 23rd:

“Everton has agreed an undisclosed fee with Manchester City for the transfer of defender Joleon Lescott.”

That’s a bit unfair, it’s his opinion Vs what the board tell him has to happen. I’m sure he didn’t want to sell him, so he’d stand by his earlier statements.

Quite a lot happend between 15th and 23rd, so stop trying to make Moyes out to be what you clearly are… an idiot.

Everyone knows what happened and everyone knows he didn’t want Judas to go, problem is that Lescott decided money was important (and who can say they are any different?).

Have you forgotten to include all of his other quotes where he is pissed the Man City waited until now to come back with an offer they couldn’t refuse?

Also, every player has their price, so while he wants to keep the team as is, thanks to Madrid and City, this can’t really happen. Unfair of you to pick on him.

Don’t forget that Lescott handed in a transfer as well. Lescott turned into a bad apple over night.

He was just pissed that he was losing another top English talent that he had unearthed. When he realised that you can’t keep a player that doesn’t want to stay (or should that be “play”), he cashed in.

    Simple.

    He’s overrated anyway.
