The Spoiler

The Citizens channel the seventies in their latest shirt design

Robinho wears the new Manchester City 3rd Kit

We rather like the black and yellow second choice Manchester City kit, and we rather like this one too. Presumably, Etihad are also happy with a diminished version of their logo.

What do you think?

3 classy kits from my club, showing all the other clubs how it should be done, hopefully on the pitch too!

    What a turd.

I love that ‘Etihad’ is Arabic for United too; still trying to copy us …

Don’t cry Darren, poor little boy.

Maybe when you grow up you can go watch your club, though by then it will be in the Championship and you will be supporting Chelsea or Liverpool.

I like all of City’s kits this year, very tasteful. Isn’t the home shirt more like a cotton t-shirt?

do you really love that darren? does that really flick you switch? what a sad little life u must lead…
    silly boy.

all 3 kits are very classy and very well made, not mas-manufactured rubbish that we had had in the past from lecoq and reebok.
simple things like the badge stiched into the shirt and good material.
yes, the home kit has a cotton sort of feel

    Darren,

in what way is MCFC trying to copy you? By being in the City of Manchester? By intimidating referees, the F.A., and League? By debt-financing? By prawn and by plastic?

Darren, Etihad means “unity”, not “united”.

    Enjoy your twilight.

    Darren,

if by “copying” you are talking about the red and black stripe, it has nothing to do with you, but with AC Milan (see City’s iconic black and red vertical striped kits from the 60s on).

On the other hand, if you are talking about our second kit this season, it’s genesis is our very first kit, which we wore as Gorton St. Marks, and which was black.

The bee on the kit is taken from Manchester’s Arms, the Arms you have to ask permission to wear given you are from the City of Salford, though you pretend otherwise.

Now then boys, lets be nice.. after all I was once a United player. Not sure if you know this but I was given the chance to join City at one point - but made a show of myself in front of the then gaffer of city by pissing my pants because I could not stop laughing.. City are and always will be a small club - just as the real gaffer Mr Ferguson.

Oh - by the way - none of you city fans have ever been to the shitty ov manchester stadium either you bunch of cunts..

Umbro put more effort into these kits than the bloody england kit. That’s for sure.

City have done well out of Umbro this season. Three classy kits, especially when you look at the dross the same manufacturer foisted on Everton!

Great kit. Is that Peter Barnes with the perm?

I loved the old city away kit in the 1970s…black and green stripes I believe? Class.

  • 17 Nick // Sep 1, 2009 at 11:15 am

Great, great kit. Also fantastic how it makes use of the away shorts and socks.

It’s Asa Hartford in the perm by the way.

Thanks Nick — so it is, wee Asa Hartford…….one of the few footballers to play with a hole in his heart!

I remember one of the radio 2 commentators back in the day called one of Asa’s performances “wholehearted”….he got about half way through the word before realizing what he was saying…and mumbled the rest.
