The Spoiler

The latest transfer gossip, rumours and damned lies…

Pep Guardiola, Joan Laporta and Txiki Beguiristain

Robinho and Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona
Barcelona’s sporting director Txiki Beguiristain has revealed the Catalan giants are eyeing Robinho, with a potential January approach on the cards. The Brazilian of course has the advantage of being free to play in the Champions League. Cheeky Txiki also spoke of his desire to bring in Cesc Fabregas, brilliantly declaring that, “he was born suckling upon the teat of the football [we play] here.”

The Spoiler truth-o-meter: Robinho would be tempted but how much would it take for moneybags City to agree to the deal? Fabregas could move next summer in what promises to be the most drawn-out transfer saga since Ronaldo and Real Madrid.

Emile Heskey to whoever will take him
Heskey has promised to readdress his current position at Villa as the England striker admits he needs first team football if he is to go to the World Cup.

The Spoiler truth-o-meter: Heskey is behind Gabriel Agbonlahor and John Carew and with the former enjoying a hot streak, it is unlikely Heskey will break into the team anytime soon. Physical sides like Stoke and Fulham might be interested and it is possible Martin O’Neill wouldn’t stand in his way.

Yossi Benayoun to Manchester City
The Daily Mail reports that Manchester City are interested in the Israeli and might make an approach in January.

The Spoiler truth-o-meter: Benayoun is one of Liverpool’s best performers and having signed a new 4-year-deal in the summer, he is clearly still part of Rafa’s plans. Only silly money would see them sell.

I can see the robinho move going ahead but not for cash, man city have obviously got more than enough, i think they would look to aqquire a quality barca bench player like hleb along with players like busquets, keita or go all out for a swap with yaya. the only problem with that in my mind is that barca have an outragously small squad for a team who are gonna have to play fourty odd games this season so may be reluctant to part with any more with hleb, caraces, kerrison and henrique all on loan
