Young Joe Cada beat logger Darvin Moon heads-up to win the World Series of Poker Main Event title early Tuesday morning. With his victory, Cada becomes the youngest winner ever at the tender age of 21. Cada won $8,547,042 for finishing first while Moon took home a still whopping $5,182,920 for his second-place finish.
Moon, the lumberjack from Maryland kept applying pressure all night at the Rio in Las Vegas. Cada, an Internet poker specialist, eventually found his footing and the victory blow came when he went all in with pocket nines versus Moon’s queen and jack of diamonds.
After he realised the champion bracelet and the millions were his, Cada was ice-cool and kept a poker face even after his triumph.
“I’m a heads-up specialist,” Cada told reporters. “I’ve been playing it for three years online.”
“My (aggressive) style of play comes from playing seven days a week online, including tournaments on Sundays.”
