One of these two, perhaps?
Everyone’s favourite Scottish football pundit called Alan Hansen wrote a piece in yesterday’s Telegraph about the intense battle to make it to the sacred Big Four of English football. The competition is hotting up.
Spurs really hit their stride over the weekend, with Defoe firing them in from all angles. The win proving so comprehensive that the Wigan players are shelling out refunds to their deflated traveling fans.
Liverpool have smashed into an unruly football wall, but should come back fighting once Torres and the rest of them have finally stopped being injured. Plus, after this evening’s match, there’s a good chance that they won’t have to endure the distraction of any European spoilings.
Man City will surely call for expensive reinforcements during the January window, and Villa and Sunderland are still there or thereabouts.
So, assuming that Man United, Chelsea and Arsenal still make up three of the Big Four - which, on current form, they should (Arsenal’s weekend blip aside) - which of the five teams competing will snag the all-important final spot? Let us know with a vote and a comment… -

This will definitely come down to managerial nous… and balls cause you’ve gotta be clever and ballsy at the same time; which is something ‘Arry Redknapp has above all the other contenders in this pole.
Benitez had them, but lost them around Christmas last season when he let the title slip to Sir. Ferg and co. and while the other managers (Hughes, O’neil and Bruce) have glimpses of the traits required (nous & balls), they don’t have them to spare like good ‘ol ‘Arry does and that’s what will get Spurs into the top four this season.

The only major thing I can see preventing Spurs from “top four glory” this season could be a bunch of injuries. As it is right now we don’t have centre-backs that actually train. And when Lennon is out we only have Bentley to replace him and he just swans around like the cat who got the cream.
For me Redknapp has continued from where he left off from last season which is bad news for Liverpool as it was top four form which took Spurs from bottom of the league in November to 1point off the Europa League by May.
But something inside me says that SURELY Man City’s £300Million worth of signings will click before the season ends. They looks great attacking but can’t defend for toffee.
Liverpool this season don’t even look great attacking anymore and their defence is shocking.
Aston Villa have a nice blend of pace and steel but seeing the way they fluffed their chance last season, i’m not too sure.
BY THE WAY SPOILER, WHY DON’T YOU DIG OUT THE OL SPURS RELEGATION PREDICTOR. FOR OLD TIMES SAKE.
HAHAHAHAHA
(All my comments in that were spot on by the way. Even predicting the three that would eventually drop).
*Bolton have a very real chance of going down this season by the way. The ginger mourinho just ain’t got it.
