Former Villarreal and current Boca Juniors star Juan Román Riquelme hit headlines around the time of World Cup 2006 when he started boffing Sports Illustrated model Yésica Toscanini - a great conquest for an international footballer, but not quite so commendable for a man with a wife and three kids. Presumably, the romance with Miss Toscanini and his suffering spouse has expired, as the Argentinean has since been linked with nude model Melina Nicolas.

Some criticise the Olympic Gold medal winner for lacking speed on the pitch, but Melina has been quick to assure us this is not the case in the bedroom. She gives his performances a modest ten out of ten, and says that he “varies his pace and acceleration”. Good to know.

Egyptian actress looking to tie down a Bundesliga star

Borussia Dortmund striker Mohamed Zidan split from his long-term partner Stina just four weeks ago, but has bounced back in spectacular style. The 27-year-old hitman is now engaged to May Ezz Eldin, one of Egypt’s most in-demand actresses. She is the star of Shikamara, and plenty of other films you will have never heard of.

Real Madrid’s Fernando Gago is a lucky man. Not only does he have access to Sergio Ramos’ hair straighteners, but he also has a knack of attracting the attention of fabulously good looking Argentinean women.

In addition to the lovely Pía Martinez, Lady Gago has also romantically entertained Luli Fernández, a famous model, actress and, er, ice skater.

At 54 years of age, Spanish actress and model Ana Obregón is precisely twice the age of the footballer to whom she has recently been romantically linked. Our besties at Kickette have informed us about the “special relationship” between Ana and Sheffield Utd striker Darius Henderson, which has been ongoing since the pair met in Ibiza.

As the ladies at Kickette will testify, Bordeaux’s Yoann Gourcuff is a much sought-after target for potential WAGs. The midfielder appears to be off the market for the time being though, as he was spotted enjoying a fancy dinner with model and actress Marie Steiss-de Villepinin New York last week.

Marie isn’t exactly the type of girl to who would hang out with at Faces and then pose for Nuts after rooting a Spurs player: she is the daughter of former French PM Dominique de Villepin, she has a law degree and she has modelled for the likes of Givenchy.

Yesterday, we informed you of the plight of millionth-choice Liverpool goalkeeper Nikolay Mihaylov, who finds himself on the wrong end of a disagreement with a Bulgarian mob boss after insulting his ex girlfriend Nikoleta Lozanova.

Now his former flame is engulfed in the world of organised crime, Mihaylov has continued to punch above the weight of most mortals with another Playboy model. So impressive is his current beau’s fame that she simply goes by one name: Nikol.

The 2006 Bulgarian Playboy Playmate of the Year used to step out with Liverpool’s Nikolay Mihaylov, but her terrifying new man has been giving the on-loan goalkeeper some grief:
