Featuring just one of these men

Fans of MOTD2’s weekly 2 Good 2 Bad round-up have permission to go totally berserk, because you can now buy a movie length edition of the feature on DVD, focussing on the rather more zany and outlandish side of World Cup football.
Everyone’s second favourite West Brom supporter - behind Frank Skinner - is joined by the peerless match pundit Lee Dixon, as the pair swap adoring looks, whilst scouring the archives for weird celebrations, players going loco, and there are a few magnificent goals thrown in for good measure.
If you only buy one DVD featuring Adrian Chiles this Christmas, make it this one. It’s out now.

Hansen and Lawrenson “work rate” hits an all-time low

Match of the Day 2 received a couple of unwelcome visitors last night when a six-fixture Sunday meant BBC super-pundits Alan Hansen and Mark Lawrenson were forced to interrupt their golf schedule in preparation for spending the evening on the MOTD 2 sofas instead.
Adrian Chiles has done an excellent job of turning MOTD 2 into a brighter, cleverer and more informative spin-off, largely thanks to Lee Dixon’s critical input and an imaginative guest rotation policy. Hansen and Lawrenson, possibly fed up at being unable to adopt their customary lolling posture, given the more modern design of the Sunday seating, turned in one

BBC’s Prem highlights package ‘borrows’ idea from The Spoiler

When Adrian Chiles is at the helm, Match of the Day 2 is always preferable to its Saturday night sibling. However, with the Brummie currently heading home from the land of the rising pollution, Ray Stubbs filled in on Sunday night.
The most notable feature to suffer in Chiles’ absence was ‘2 Good 2 Bad’, where the premise is to feature two good and two bad clips from the weekend’s action. This week, the Beeb only felt it necessary to highlight one humorous observation (we were not told whether it was good or bad), namely Kevin Keegan’s constant inclination to touch people faces. Yup, that’s the same thing that The Spoiler highlighted three-and-a-half months ago.
It’s fine to steal ideas from the interweb MOTD2, but try to do it a little quicker in future…

Chiles and co check out ill-mannered geriatrics and blatant homoeroticism
There are plenty of reasons why MOTD2 is infinitely better than its Saturday night precursor: there’s no Lawrenson, there’s more games to see and there’s the always-brilliant ‘2 Good 2 Bad’ feature. In last weekend’s show, the final one of the season, Adrian Chiles talked us through some passionate celebrating at Fulham, Jaïdi’s Academy Award-nominated dive and a very rude Reading supporter. Good work, fellas.

Arsenal legend provides welcome alternative to the matey blandness of Shearer and pals

Match of the Day 2 has been cleaning Match of the Day’s clock for a long time now. Personable Chiles is better than link-machine Lineker, Lee Dixon is a bright and insightful analyst, providing stiff competition for alpha pundit Alan Hansen’s cold, all-seeing defensive eye. Meanwhile Alan Shearer’s preference for stating the obvious is threatening to drag the flagship beneath the waves.
Now, with the addition of Tony Adams to “Day 2″, “Day” has slipped even further behind. At first sight he exhibits a quite disturbing level of discomfort at being on television, yet the ill-fitting, poorly coordinated clothes and the hair that product forgot provide the perfect framework for his troubled observations. While the main MOTD is all sweatery banter, straight from the golf club,
