Adebayor: “We have taken a step backwards”

Togolese striker endears himself to Gunners fans once again

Emmanuel Adebayor

Emmanuel Adebayor has been touting his love of his favourite Bootylicious Serie A club for some time, but yesterday attempted to bury rumours of a transfer on the official Arsenal site, declaring his 100 per cent dedication to the club.

Despite his sudden love for all things North London, the striker has felt the need to criticise the Wenger regime:

“I think we have taken a step backwards - not only me but the whole team.”I don’t know what we are going to do for next season but we need to get some more players.

“We lost Alex Hleb to Barcelona and Mathieu Flamini to Milan last summer and it has been quite difficult for us since.

“We have a young team and we have tried to make the best of it. But when I came Arsenal in 2006 people told me I had the chance to win trophies - yet we are still empty-handed.”

Manu isn’t exactly the most popular player at The Emirates these days, and will be doing himself no favours with his latest comments. Frankly, The Spoiler believes Arsenal will be better of without his mistake-ridden performances and nay-saying attitude - the sooner he trots off to The Rossoneri, the better.

“For me that must be something special. It is like a boy being told Beyonce is looking for them.”

Speaking with Turin based paper Tuttosport today, Manu once again crow-barred the name of his favourite booty-licious star into the conversation:

“Galliani may not be as sexy as Beyonce, but Milan are. They have won the Champions League seven times, while Arsenal have never won it. Last year I was very close to signing for the Rossoneri, but I
