Blagging
Chancer pounces on Mr B’s naivety to experience high life

It’s easy to watch an entire episode of Entourage and wonder what, if anything, actually happened, so David Beckham can be forgiven for his recent mistaken identity faux pas on the celeb circuit. According to the New York Daily News, a cheeky chap took advantage of the LA Galaxy star’s good nature and blagged his way into an evening of free drinking surrounded by bling and ladies with artificial chests:
David Beckham was happy to meet “Entourage” actor Rex Lee at Jermaine Dupri’s birthday bash in Chicago. The only problem? “It wasn’t the real Rex Lee,” laughed a spy, “and Becks brought him into the VIP area and spent the whole night drinking with him!” Beckham’s rep denied the incident occurred.
The man who passed himself off as Ari Gold’s downtrodden assistant undoubtedly caught Beckham at a bad time: he was in Chicago helping the Galaxy lose 3-1 to the Fire, leaving them seventh in the Western Conference. Things wouldn’t be so bad if there were more than seven teams in the division.
Spoiler bonus: Read Mr B’s musings on the Chicago trip on his oft-entertaining personal blog.

Money matter$
It’s West Ham, according to new blog

The fact that a website exists where users simply submit pictures of stuff on top of their cats pays testament to the fact that anyone can set up a blog for absolutely any cause. In the spirit of sharing valuable information on the internets, one man, presumable a West Ham fan, has dedicated an entire blog to potential Premier League investors, claiming their money would be better used at Upton Park than any other football club in the country. Their mission statement is as follows:
An analysis of why West Ham United offers the best investment opportunity in English football; reviewing: talent production, Olympic Stadium prospects, proximity to London’s financial districts, large and passionate fanbase, high media profile, strong tradition & brand, consolidated private ownership, catchment size and growth potential.
Persuasive post highlights include ‘Bigger online than Chelsea‘ (based solely on the official sites), ‘West Ham can become bigger than Chelsea‘ (based solely on comments by Iranian businessman Kia Joorabchian) and ‘Fanbase bigger than Chelsea’s‘ (based solely on attendances from 1981 to 1994). If any Sheikhs have great big piles of money burning a hole in their palaces, they’d be foolish not to take heed of these compelling arguments.

Either that, or the LA Galaxy star isn’t paying enough attention

In a blog post on his official site dated Tuesday April 22, ie yesterday, David Beckham sends his regards to old club:
Good luck to Manchester United, who play Barcelona in the champions league semi-final tonight
Tsk tsk, Mr B. The game is actually tonight. Getting a bit confsed out there in La-La Land, are we?

Beckham Blogs
The serial blogger may have got the maths slightly wrong

David Beckham took time out of his intensive training schedule yesterday to post a blog on his official website:
I am sure you will have read a lot of Mr Capello’s call to leave me out of the squad but in truth I admire him as a manager and respect his decision. In his explanation, he said that it was purely down to match fitness and that it was unfair to the other players, competing week in and week out for their clubs, to include me in the squad.
A lot has been made of my trips to Sierra Leone and Brazil but these were only a total of four days in six weeks. I postponed my holidays to spend five days a week training with Arsenal and I did everything possible make myself available for England.
