CAR CRASH NEWS
Footballers continue to destroy nice motors

Furthering the widely held belief that footballers have a hard time translating their excellent foot/eye coordination into the successful operation of an automobile, Nicklas Bendtner wrapped his £160,000 Aston Martin around a tree on Sunday morning.
The striker’s car left the road as he drove to Arsenal’s training ground in London Colney, Hertfordshire, ploughing through a fence and a tree before coming to rest in a field. It sounds (and looks) pretty serious. But don’t worry Bendtner fan! The slipper-sporting Dane walked away with just bruising to the shoulder and grazed knees.
According to The Sun, a ‘motorist’ who ’saw’ the accident said:
“The car wasn’t going especially fast but careered off the road. The driver must have lost his concentration for a moment. There was a massive amount of damage to the car but he got out, brushed himself down and seemed right as rain. He’s a lucky boy.
Arsene Wenger now has a selection dilemma, with Bendtner out of tonight’s Champions League clash with Olympiakos. And we’re sure he won’t have been happy seeing his striker hitting the woodwork again. *bu-dum-tssh.*

For Sale
Your chance to own C-Ron’s sloppy seconds - it’s the motoring equivalent of dating Nereida Gallardo

During his time at Manchester Utd, it is estimated that Cristiano Ronaldo spent around £2m on fast cars. With little use for a fleet of right-hand drive vehicles in his new home-land, however, the Portuguese star has put some of the motors he managed not to crash on Autotrader.
The beautiful car above is a Bentley Continental GT Speed, which he purchased in Spetember last year. It would have cost around £138,000 new, and has held its value relatively well with an asking price of £114,950.
The GT has done only 7,000 miles, has been stored in a garage and can easily accommodate up to four prostitutes within its plush cream leather cabin.

Also for sale on the second hand car website is his fairly modest Mercedes C220CDI, which has covered 35,000 miles since it was purchased in 2004. It’s not his flashiest motor, but it could be yours for just £10,795.
The Ronaldo motor fire sale appears to be going quite well so far - the black Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Tiptronic S he listed on Autotrader last month is no longer available, suggesting someone stumped up the £69,995 asking price. Actually, it’s much more likely that he wrote it off.

'Baller's Rides
In times of financial hardship, footballers continue to keep the automotive industry afloat

Stephen Ireland may look like a prize muppet in his pink-wheeled 4×4, but he’s actually a trailblazer of Premier League automotive fashion. According to Nuts Magazine’s “Premiership Stars and their Cars 2009″ survey, the Range Rover Sport is the most popular of car among football’s elite. Drivers of the squirrel-squashing Chelsea tractor include John Terry, Steven Gerrard, Peter Crouch, Joey Barton and Xabi Alonso.
Here’s the top ten most popular cars in training ground car parks:
1 Range Rover Sport (£63,895)
2 BMW X5 (£53,465)
3 Porsche Cayenne (£76,760)
4 Aston Martin DB9 (£111,526)
5 Bentley Continental GT (£137,500)
6 Audi Q7 (£51,095)
7 Ferrari F430 (£135,685)
8 Mercedes SL65 AMG £151,101)
9 Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 (£151,101)
10 Cadillac Escalade (£50,100)
As you can see, the big trend is to have a huge gas-guzzling 4×4 - the type that will break down in the middle of the Tyne bridge.
Unsurprisingly, this beauty of a motor didn’t make the list.

If the answer to any of these questions is no, then you need to visit Grid Crasher, a brand new blog featuring the latest motorsport news and views, plus a healthy dose of WAGs and videos of people doing very silly things behind the wheel. It’s really rather good.
