Cristiano Ronaldo blows £1,000 in a casino before Man Utd’s FA Cup defeat

Portuguese star uses his time off wisely

Cristiano the Gambler

Following Alex Ferguson’s decision not to take the FA Cup semi-finals very seriously, Cristiano Ronaldo found himself with a rare weekend off. According to the Daily Mail, the Portuguese star channeled his inner Paul Merson, choosing to hit the table at Manchester’s 235 Casino on Friday night.

Apparently, he dropped up to one thousand pounds (or, one thousand ‘prostitute tokens’ as he prefers to call them) in the casino’s plush VIP suite.

It’s not known if he won anything, but he’d have to put down a lot more than a grand if he wants to compete with high rollers like Gisele Bündchen.

Marlon King and Dean Windass brawl in a casino

Hull stars guilty of “violent and appalling behaviour”

Scarborough Opera House Casino

Following in the noble footsteps of Craig Bellamy, Dean Windass and Marlon King staged a fight at a casino. The lucky venue was the Scarborough Opera House Casino, where the Hull stars kicked off at 3am last night:

A witness said: “Windass appeared to say something to King that had him raging like a bull. King was shouting, ‘You b*****d. Wait until I tell my boy what you said’.

“Windass shouted back, ‘It was a joke. You know f*** all about anything’.

“King then threw himself at Windass, headbutting him in the face. There was blood and drinks were sent flying.

“It was embarrassing. They were like snarling animals.”

King, who has been keeping veteran Windass out of the Hull team, is also said to have insulted staff and pretended that his £19,000 watch had been stolen, despite witnesses seeing him slip it into his own pocket.

The Jamaican has clearly acted abhorrently, but hats off to him for having the gall to fight Dean Windass. Most people would probably rather take on a family of starved bears while smeared in honey than fight Dean Windass.

Craig Bellamy beat up a charity worker in Sierra Leone

Striker misinterprets purpose of goodwill mission

Craig bellamy

When it comes down to it, Craig Bellamy is a good guy. If you ignore the golf club attacks on teammates, nightclub assaults on women, chair hurling, racially aggravated assault and his thoroughly unprofessional attitude to transfers, he’s just a sweet little lamb with a pure heart. In testament to that fact, he’s just set up the Craig Bellamy Foundation in Sierra Leone, using £650,000 of his own money to help the disadvantaged children of the war-torn nation. Awww.

Oh wait, he’s just gone and duffed up a charity worker after an all-day drinking session in a casino:

The incident happened in the country’s capital, Freetown, in the early hours of Saturday after Bellamy and his two former SAS bodyguards went for drinks at the Lagonda Casino.

One witness said: “Bellamy had two minders with him but within 20 minutes of his arrival there was trouble.

“He was playing on a roulette table when something seemed to upset him. He was shouting and squaring up to people at the table.

“A few seconds later he jumped on one guy and started wrestling
