Belgian-born choreographer and dancer Barbara Tausia married Nicolas Anelka in 2007, but their holy union didn’t get off to the best of starts. According to a story in the News of the World, the Chelsea star conducted an affair with a (less attractive) lady named Natalie Merriman. She claimed Nico sent her pictures and saucy messages, and even had the gall to text her on his wedding night.

The reason Adriano went off the rails (again)

Yesterday, we revealed the carnival dancer who is helping Adriano recover from his depression, so today it seems fitting to consider the carnival dancer who caused it. Brazilian beauty Joana Machoado has the wayward Internazionale star’s name permanently etched onto her skin, and once said:

“Adriano owns me, owns my life: if he signs for Flamengo or Chelsea, I sign for them too.”

At some point in the past few weeks, however, it appears the striker denounced ownership of his devoted lady. Joana left her ten-year-old daughter and three-year-old son in Brazil to go and live with Adriano, but now admits that this was “crazy” and that she was “not respected”.

Can this lady help bring Adriano back to his best?

Throughout his career, Adriano has rarely flirted with the concept of professionalism, and he currently finds himself on another self-imposed sojourn in his native Brazil. We are led to believe his absence from Milan is due to “heartache”, but if the words of ‘carnival funk dancer’ Ellen Cardoso are to be believed, he is on the road to recovery.

The Brazilian beauty - who we introduced you to in video form yesterday - told a Rio newspaper last week that she and the wayward forward are in a relationship, and they are “very happy”.

England manager goes talent spotting in Milan

Italian TV is the best in the world. As far as we can tell, the schedules consist only of live sketch shows and talk shows where unfeasibly attractive showgirls dance around in as little as possible.

England manager Fabio Capello is in Milan to watch David Beckham play tonight, but last night he managed to fit a visit to the set of Chiambretti Night (which appears to be Newsnight with more saxophones and eroticism) into his schedule.

The 61-year-old looked like a rabbit in the headlights as a girl (who will almost certainly have sex with Pippo Inzaghi at some point) danced for him.
