Pep Guardiola’s obssession with Coldplay continues
Barcelona coach continues to rile up his troops with moderately-paced middle of the road rock
As they cruised to a historic treble last season, Barcelona revealed the secret to their success: a love of Coldplay.
Pep Guardiola is a huge fan of the band, and regularly plays their hits to inspire his players in the dressing room beforebig matches. It clearly worked, and Xavi revealed his particular fondness for unofficial Barca anthem ‘Viva La Vida’, a song that is frequently played through the PA at the Camp Nou:
“Viva La Vida is a sophisticated piece of grandiose orchestration that motivates and gives us luck.”
Despite his considerable ears, teammate Dani Alves wasn’t quite so enthused:
“That song does not motivate me because I do not understand what he says.”
regardless of Mr Alves’ opinions, Spanish paper Sport report that fanboy Guardiola will achieve one of his dreams next Friday, as the Viva La Vida world tour brings Chris Martin and co to Barcelona’s Olympic Stadium. The international break

Dani Alves splashes out on cosmetic surgery
Barcelona star gets his jugs pinned back
It seems that (Fat) Ronaldo isn’t the only Brazilian footballer to go under the knife for cosmetic reasons.
Marca - the font of all La Liga nonsense and scurrilous gossip - today claim that Barcelona’s Dani Alves has had his ears pinned back. The right back apparently underwent the procedure on a rest day following the summer Confederations Cup tournament.
Judging by the pictures above, Alves will almost certainly receive less Gary Lineker comparisons this season.

The Spoiler was surprised by the results of yesterday’s poll, where 76% of you disagreed with Cristiano Ronaldo’s claim that La Liga was stronger than the Premier League.
That poll took into account a number of factors: for example the difference between the best and worst teams, entertainment value and European success. Today, we want to focus on which is the better league in terms of galacticos.
Let us know which of the two teams we’ve created to represent each league is stronger - and if you disagree with our line-ups tell us who you would pick instead - with a vote and comment below:
