Brazilian legend eyes Madrid return, Barcelona target £7m Arsenal defender

It’s nowhere near the January window, but the rumour vines are ripe for picking…

Roberto Carlos to Real Madrid
After two-and-a-half seasons with Fenerbahçe, the Brazilian has announced he will leave Turkey in December. He has told Spanish paper AS that he would like to return to his homeland to play, but would be willing to join Madrid from January to June without pay.

The Spoiler truth-o-meter: Marcelo - who played terribly last weekend - should be quaking in his boots.

Emmanuel Eboue to Barcelona
The Sun believe the Catalan giants are lining up a £7m bid for the Arsenal right-back, as they need cover for Dani Alves. They also claim Eboue is in demand as Barca have failed to sign Dmytro Chygrynskiy, which is rather puzzling as the Ukraine international is a centre-back who signed a five-year deal with the club in August and made his debut against Getafe.

Video highlights: Arsenal see off Celtic at the Emirates

Eduardo becomes Glasgow Public Enemy #1 in the process

Arsenal 3/ Celtic 1 (Arsenal win 5-1 on agg.)
Recent studies have shown that Celtic keeper Artur Boruc is the angriest man in the world, and therefore common sense dictates that it is a bad idea to get on the wrong side of him. Eduardo risked the wrath of the Polish mentalist and half of Glasgow last night with his highly suspicious dive and subsequent penalty, but the Gunners soon put the game out of Celtic’s hands with efforts from Emmanuel Eboue and Andrei ‘The Meerkat’ Arshavin.

Spurs target £8m Hull centre-back, Fiorentina approach Emmanuel Eboue

The latest transfer gossip, rumours and damned lies

Michael Turner

Michael Turner to Tottenham

As Ledley King, Jonathan Woodgate and Michael Dawson struggle to find full fitness, The Mirror suggest ‘Arry will bring in the Hull centre-back. Apparently, Pascal Chimbonda plus cash would equate to a deal worth around £8m.

The Spoiler truth-o-meter: In light of the injury list, Tottenham do need to look beyond Corluka for centre-back cover, and sources suggest Turner could be, er, turned for the right price. The thought of wearing that ugly 80s throwback Hull shirt for an entire season must be playing on his mind too.

Emmanuel Eboue to Fiorentina
Another rumour from the prolific Daily Mirror, who are suggesting the Ivorian will be the latest star to leave the Emirates. Wenger has reportedly given Eboue permission to speak to the Serie A side, who would be expected to pay around £9m.

The Spoiler truth-o-meter: Statistically, he is an extremely effective player, however

Carlo Ancelotti ‘demands’ Tevez, Everton bid £13m for Belgian midfielder

The latest transfer gossip, rumours and damned lies

Carlos Tevez

Carlos Tevez to Chelsea
Carlo Ancelotti is “demanding” that his new side land the services of the clubless Argentinean, say the Daily Mail. Both Chelsea and Manchester City have matched the £25.5m asking price, but Abramovich may have to let a couple of his yacht staff go if he wants to compete on the wages front.

The Spoiler truth-o-meter: As exciting as a move to another big four club sounds, we’re not convinced Tevez will be willing to leave Manchester. He would be guaranteed regular first team football at City, and he has just enrolled his daughter at a posh private school near his home.

Steven Defour to Everton
The Independent believe David Moyes will follow up the Toffees’ rejected £9m bid for the Standard Liege midfielder with an improved £13m offer.

The Spoiler truth-o-meter: Defour has indicated

Video: Eboue is “very very” happy with Arsenal fans

Ivorian makes peace with the Arsenal boo boys

Emmanuel Eboue

[Player opens in new window]

Thanks to his shoddy performances and tendency to get sent off in important derby games, defender-turned-midfielder Emmanuel Eboue isn’t exactly a fan favourite at the Emirates lately.

The Ivory Coast star received the booing of a lifetime during the Wigan game in December (when he came on as a substitute and was promptly substituted), and this made him very very disappointed. Shortly afterwards, however, many fans sent written apologies, which made him very very happy. Now, he is very very well.
