Surprise Spot Kick
Some fun and games from the Russian Premier League
While any pitch invaders in the Manchester derby were liable to receive the fist-based justice of Craig Bellamy, an encroaching fan in this week’s Moscow derby fulfilled a lifetime ambition.
Spartak Moscow were 1-0 down during their visit to fierce rivals Saturn Moscow Oblast when they were awarded a penalty. As Brazilian forward Alex was preparing to take the spot kick, an over zealous fan stole the limelight with his hilarious antics.
Undeterred by the distraction, Alex eventually took his turn and levelled the score, but his efforts were ultimately in vain as Saturn scored a winner three minutes later.

South American Violence News
Psychotic pitch invader throws cup tie into disarray
South America’s reputation as the global epicentre of football violence was bolstered yesterday thanks to an incident that occurred during the Copa Sudamericana match between Bolivia’s Blooming and Uruguay’s River Plate.
Shortly after River Plate capitalised on a hideous goalkeeping error [0.12 in the video], a knife-wielding fan ran onto the pitch and attacked River’s Henry Gimenez. Thankfully, the moronic supporter was subdued before he could get “stabby”, but the referee had no option but to abandon the game. Blooming fans weren’t particularly happy with this decision, and proceeded to pelt the pitch with missiles and flares.
The was the first leg of the cup tie, and it’s currently not known whether River will be allowed to advance directly to the next stage, or if the authorities will risk playing out the return leg.

Divided Loyalty News
Former team-mate suggests C-Ron is a closet Culé

Since securing his escape from the drizzle of Manchester, Cristiano Ronaldo has barely stopped to draw breath in between bouts of telling the world how he has made a ‘dream’ move to Real Madrid. A former team-mate, however, has suggested Los Merengues have not always been his favourite Spanish club.
Speaking to The Sun, much-loved Manchester Utd legend Eric Djemba-Djemba suggested the Portuguese star was actually a fan of a certain team from Catalonia:
“Cristiano was more a fan of Barcelona then than Real Madrid.”
If the tricky winger picks up a mysterious injury prior to his first El Clásico, don’t be surprised…

Animal Abuse
The incident looked a little something like this…
Thousands of West Ham fans travelled to the north east on Wednesday to see their side get battered by Middlesbrough in a half empty stadium. Understandably, the performance left many fans unhappy, but some took the defeat a lot worse than others.
A dejected Spoiler reader tells us he was leaving the Riverside Stadium when some aggravation between rival supporters threatened to break out. Police on horses stepped in to calm the situation, but this inflamed the temper of one West Ham fan, who proceeded to land a right hook in the the face of one unsuspecting horse.
“It was quite shocking,” said the witness.

Irritated fan gets his shove on
Yesterday was a frustrating day for fans of Eredivisie strugglers De Graafschap, who had to watch their team lost 3-0 to PSV Eindhoven. While 2-0 down, many supporters were enraged that the assistant referee denied a scoring opportunity for on-loan Chelsea striker Ben Sahar. The linesman appeared to make the correct decision, but this didn’t stop one angry chap from dealing with the situation in a rather Paolo Di Canio-esque manner.
The angry “Super Farmers” fan received a one-year stadium ban for this naughtiness.

Supporter expresses love through the majesty of groping
Sure, Johnny Football Fan is punching above his weight, and has no qualms about validating the awesomeness of his girlfriend’s breasts in public. However, if he knew the Setanta cameras were more interested in his sexy fumbling than the Wigan/ Chelsea game, he might have waited until he got home.
