Milan, Juve and Inter well represented at ‘worst player’ ceremony

Serie A’s least coveted award has revealed its ten player shortlist. The Bidone d’Oro (Golden Bin) award annually recognises the terrible efforts of some of Italy’s worst performers. Past winners include Christian Vieri, Adriano and Rivaldo.
Most of the 2009 list will read like a who’s who of dodged bullets for Premier League clubs.
Last year’s winner, Inter Milan and Chelsea reject Ricardo Quaresma, is back in contention, along with Arsenal’s summer target Felipe Melo. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, who Spurs are currently eying up, continues to have the worst year of his life and there’s a customary appearance from the world’s biggest disappointment, Ronaldinho.

The latest transfer gossip, rumours and damned lies

Carlos Tevez to Chelsea
Carlo Ancelotti is “demanding” that his new side land the services of the clubless Argentinean, say the Daily Mail. Both Chelsea and Manchester City have matched the £25.5m asking price, but Abramovich may have to let a couple of his yacht staff go if he wants to compete on the wages front.
The Spoiler truth-o-meter: As exciting as a move to another big four club sounds, we’re not convinced Tevez will be willing to leave Manchester. He would be guaranteed regular first team football at City, and he has just enrolled his daughter at a posh private school near his home.
Steven Defour to Everton
The Independent believe David Moyes will follow up the Toffees’ rejected £9m bid for the Standard Liege midfielder with an improved £13m offer.
The Spoiler truth-o-meter: Defour has indicated

A further helping of transfer gossip, rumours and damned lies

Ricardo Carvalho and Deco to Inter Milan
The biggest transfer news of a very slow day comes from Italy’s Sky Sport 24, who claim that Chelsea do not want Nicolas Burdisso or Maicon in exchange for Jose Mourinho’s good friends Deco and Ricardo Carvalho and are instead holding out for around £12 million for the pair.
The Spoiler truth-o-meter: Maicon’s agent Antonio Caliendo says that he expects his client to stay put this summer so it would make sense for Chelsea to take as much money as they can and shop elsewhere.
Felipe Melo is staying with Fiorentina

Michael Owen to Olympiakos
The Greek side have reportedly offered the charismatic striker a way of escaping from all the poeple pointing and laughing at him in England with a three-year-deal worth £50k-a-week in Athens
The Spoiler truth-o-meter: Before tax, it’s not as much as the £60k-a-week Hull are offering, but the Government’s brilliant new 50 per cent tax laws will make the money go a lot further in Greece.
Samuel Eto’o and Carlos Tevez to Manchester City
The Daily Star believe the Citizens will bolster their attacking lineup with a £50m MEGABID for the man who plays for Barca and the man who plays for Kia Joorabchian.
The Spoiler truth-o-meter: It is believed the Catalan giants have already accepted
