The Spoiler’s Premier League XI v La Liga XI: which is best?

Which division would triumph in an MLS All-Stars style match?

The Spoiler’s Premier League XI
———————————————————————————————————————-The Spoiler’s La Liga XI

The Spoiler was surprised by the results of yesterday’s poll, where 76% of you disagreed with Cristiano Ronaldo’s claim that La Liga was stronger than the Premier League.

That poll took into account a number of factors: for example the difference between the best and worst teams, entertainment value and European success. Today, we want to focus on which is the better league in terms of galacticos.

Let us know which of the two teams we’ve created to represent each league is stronger - and if you disagree with our line-ups tell us who you would pick instead - with a vote and comment below:

Vote: Will Cristiano Ronaldo regret moving to Real Madrid?

Could C-Ron’s dream move end up being a nightmare?

Cristiano Ronaldo

“After Manchester United it is downhill.” Those are the words that David Gill last month claimed to have heard roll from the tongues of many former Old Trafford employees (although presumably not Gerard Pique!).

The example of David Beckham has been used to comfort Manchester United fans as they come to terms with Cristiano Ronaldo’s imminent departure. With the Red Devils he won six titles, two FA Cups and the Champions League but since leaving for Real Madrid in 2003, he’s claimed just one significant trophy - La Liga in his final season in Spain.*

C-Ron has finally been granted his dream move but will he continue to win trophies and Ballon d’Ors or will it turn into a Beckham-esque nightmare? Let us know what you think with a vote and a comment.

*It shouldn’t be forgotten though that United also endured a barren spell after Beckham’s exit, going three years without winning the Premier League or reaching the last eight of the Champions League.

Footballers fear Danielle Lloyd autobiography

Serial WAG threatening to publish her shameless exploits

Danielle Lloyd

In a recent survey, it was revealed that approximately 101 per cent of Premier League footballers had boffed not-a-racist glamour model Danielle Lloyd (there’s a one per cent margin of error).

The 25-year-old topless model has made the front page of the Daily Star today (a slot she seems to share solely with Chanelle Hayes and Lucy Pinder) as she is at the centre of a six-figure bidding war for the rights to publish her “X-rated autobiography”. This, of course, spells bad news for her legions of famous partners:

The sexy Scouser is due to lift the lid on her flings with the Premier League’s biggest names and reveal their wild playboy secrets.

Daring Dani’s sizzling new book, guaranteed to be a best-seller, will spill the beans on the stars’ cheating, gambling and boozing habits.

“She’s revealing loads she’s never spoken about before,” said a spokesman for the Daily Star babe.

“She’ll talk about her high profile relationships and what really went on behind the scenes.”

Danielle - whose known conquests include Marcus Bent , Armand Traoré, Jermain Defoe, Gerard Piqué, Ryan Babel and Teddy Sheringham - has traded off her relationships with sportsmen for years, but made her attitude towards girls who do kiss-and-tell stories very clear last January:

“Women who sell these stories have no self respect. They want to make money and be famous for saying they have slept with soccer stars. But they have no shame.”

Danielle’s book is out in October.

WAG No. 227: Danielle Lloyd

Serial footballer admirer snares victim number six

Danielle Lloyd

Danielle Lloyd is to footballer steamrollerings what Bob Dylan is to songwriting: prolific. Until this day she had still to be inducted into the WAG of the Day hall of fame, however, on account of her new “relationship” with Liverpool rapper/ footballer Ryan Babel, the not-a-racist-but-says-racist-things glamour model has finally earned her place.

Manchester United stars lived on diet of “beer and burgers”

Former Man Utd defender slams club’s dietary regime

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique (pictured here in a dashing outfit), who left Old Trafford earlier this year, has claimed his former team-mates lived on a diet of “beer and burgers”.

“There were some incredible things happening at United. It [the players’ diet] was outrageous. Everyone ate whatever they wanted to eat and when you think about the typical English diet, you can imagine what I am talking about.

“Every two weeks we were checked out on a machine that measured the amount of body fat. You would be amazed at how many top players practically broke the machine because their diet was based on beer and burgers.”

Hmm, wonder who he means? Wazza Rooney, anyone? Still, if drinking beer and making regular trips to Burger King results in a Premier League/Champions League double, who’s complaining? You stick to tapas, son (as Andy Gray might say).
