You’ve probably already seen Fran Merida’s cracker, and feel free to step this way and dribble at Valeri Bojinov’s brilliant goal for Parma last night.
But thespoiler’s favourite came in the Asian Champions League.Saudi side Al-Ittihad beat Nagoya Grampus Eight 6-2 in the first leg of their semi-final. and were already two ahead in the second leg, before Keita Sugimoto scored this wonder goal. It was however, to prove a mere consolation, and Ittihad will now meet Korean side Pohang Steelers in the final.

Sorry Fulham fans…
Not many British centre-backs could do this. It was late, it was undeserved, but Marco Andreolli’s chest-volley combination was fitting of any occasion.

FIFA exploit honour the dead
Thespoiler has always thought that there aren’t enough awards ceremonies these days. Young Hollyoaks actresses, American Presidents and Lionel Messi just don’t get enough love.
Sepp Blatter, being the wise man he is, agrees with us. Hence his unveiling this week of the FIFA Puskas award, a new prize to be awarded for the ‘finest goal of the year.’ The selection process for the winner of the award will take place on FIFA.com at the end of November. The ten best goals of the year, as selected by the FIFA Football Committee, will be available to view online and users will then be able to make their choice.
Something to look forward to then. In the meantime, what has been the ‘finest’ goal of 2009? Tell us below…

Tres bon indeed
Bordeaux’s Michael Ciani had already sliced the ball into his own net to give Bayern an early lead, but twenty minutes later, the big centre half equalised with a Zola-esque flick from a corner. For more great back-heel goals, click here

Delgado’s was the funniest, but this one was the best
The word unstoppable is much overused in the footballing vernacular, but Aleksandr Ryazantsev’s rocket for Rubin Kazan to open the scoring at Camp Nou last night, probably fits the bill. Victor Valdes had plenty of time to scramble across, but even then the ball comfortably eluded him. We’ve also included Ibra’s brilliantly taken equaliser and the winner. Because we’re those kind of people.

The ones you haven’t seen yet.
Cagliari’s Daniele Dessena, on loan from Sampdoria, shows once more why he is one of the brightest young things in Italian football right now, with this overhead kick against Catania.
John Goosens started his professional career with Ajax, where the famous academy obviously taught him to do things like this.
We here at thespoiler can never get enough of goalkeepers scoring goals, so we loved this one from the Portugese Cup.
Inter’s splattering of Genoa on Saturday night was unquestionably the performance of the weekend in Europe, and Dejan Stankovic’s long-range effort, probably the goal of the weekend in Europe.
