Yet more unacceptable behaviour from our friends in Rome
Yesterday, we told you how two Chelsea fans were subjected to the latest craze in Italian hooliganism - slashing rival fans’ buttocks as a “greeting”.
Following last night’s heated match at the Stadio Olympico, it has emerged that an Arsenal fan received a similar stabbing in the rear (pun intended) when a gang of Roma Ultras ambushed a minibus. The unnamed man was targeted when the bus got lost near the stadium, and presumably he stood up for the rest of the journey. The assailant has been arrested.
There have been plenty of complaints concerning the treatment of Arsenal supporters last night - fans were given little assistance as Roma’s faithful ripped up seats and set fire to anything in sight.
UEFA have warned Roma that they will lose the right to host this year’s Champions League finals if any more serious acts of hooliganism occur between now and May 27.
Is it time that Blatter and Platini got over their anti-English agenda and dealt with the the likes of Roma and Lazio, who are getting away with serious crimes? Should this dangerous venue host this year’s European showpiece? Let us know what you think below…
