Gabriel Obertan is already the subject of YouTube compilations
Manchester United today confirmed the signing of Bordeaux winger Gabriel Obertan for £3 million - 3.75% of the Cristiano Ronaldo funded transfer kitty.
The 20-year-old was named MVP of the prestigious Toulon Tournament last month but hadn’t enjoyed much success at club level with either Bordeaux or on loan at Lorient last season, prompting boss Laurent Blanc to express surprise at Manchester United’s interest.
The Frenchman looks promising in this YouTube tribute but The Spoiler always treats these with caution after being conned a couple of years ago by a video making Julien Faubert look like a faster version of Ronaldo.

Ricardo Carvalho and Deco to Inter Milan
The biggest transfer news of a very slow day comes from Italy’s Sky Sport 24, who claim that Chelsea do not want Nicolas Burdisso or Maicon in exchange for Jose Mourinho’s good friends Deco and Ricardo Carvalho and are instead holding out for around £12 million for the pair.
The Spoiler truth-o-meter: Maicon’s agent Antonio Caliendo says that he expects his client to stay put this summer so it would make sense for Chelsea to take as much money as they can and shop elsewhere.

Former West Ham star takes it easy on the sidelines
Barcelona won their 19th La Liga title this weekend without even having to kick a ball, thanks to Real Madrid’s loss at Villarreal. The game reached a thrilling conclusion, with the Valencian side stealing a 3-2 win in the 90th minute.
Everyone in attendance found it to be an exciting affair, except for Julien Faubert, who was too busy scratching his nuts and falling asleep to notice.
West Ham reject is shocked he can’t get into the Real Madrid team
Julien Faubert has only been with Real Madrid for five minutes but he is already complaining to the French press that Juande Ramos is not playing him enough. The Spoiler can only assume that despite not being able to break into the West Ham team, the Frenchman expected to walk straight into the Spanish champions’ starting eleven.
The winger had previously complained to his native media that he was “suffering mentally” in his final days at West Ham and it appears that his “suffering” has continued in Madrid, with Faubert suggesting to L’Equipe that Ramos doesn’t like him.
The former Spurs boss responded by claiming that Faubert has spent ten days out injured. That suggestion has been greeted with scepticism though because no mention of this “injury” had been made before and there is no confirmation in Real Madrid’s medical records.
