Deportivo are claiming that they have agreed a £5.7 million deal to sell Spanish striker Xisco to Newcastle. Aston Villa were thought to be keen on the 22-year-old, but it looks like Dennis Wise and co may beat them to the punch.

Darren Bent’s pre-season goal haul convinced some Spurs fans that they could cope without Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov, but he has played all 180 minutes of Spurs poor start without having any impact, and it’s painfully obvious he needs someone alongside him. So imagine how they’ll feel when they pick up today’s papers and see that Chelsea might be making a £20m move for Andrei Arshavin…
Craig Bellamy to Man City
Rumours that the West Ham board are trying to force Alan Curbishley’s resignation heightened this morning when Sky Sports reported that Manchester City are in talks over Bellamy, who has started just eight games for the club. Curbs has played down speculation, but did the same with Anton Ferdinand before being forced to admit defeat.

Roque Santa Cruz to Tottenham
Manchester City took Blackburn’s stern refusal to sell the Paraguayan striker as a sign they are haggling for more money and are prepared to increase their offer, but Spurs are reportedly ready to trump the Citizens and pair Santa Cruz with Darren Bent next season.

Chelsea have confirmed making a bid for Brazilian man-o’-sex Robinho (rumoured to be worth £19.7 million) but find themselves frustrated with Real Madrid’s failure to find a replacement, which is currently holding up proceedings. With Cristiano Ronaldo staying put and Wesley Sneijder out injured, this saga could be far from completion.
Kevin Doyle to Sunderland
Things were going great for Doyle. He impressed during his first Premier League season then was even linked with a move to Chelsea. What followed? A run of 21 games without a goal! Fear not though, Roy Keane is ready to offer him a second chance.
