Some NSFW WAG controversy from the boot-shaped nation
Italians might just be the luckiest folks on Earth: their weather is exceptional, their lifestyles relatively relaxed and their TV stations are jam-packed full of gorgeous women who constantly break out into sexy dance routines for absolutely no reason.
Football show Controcampo (”Offside”) broadcasts on the Mediaset network owned by Italian PM /sex pest Silvio Berlusconi, so its consistently high standards of salacious Waggery is unsurprising. Prominent alumni include Elisabetta Cannalis, Federica Fontana and Chilean model Maria Jose Lopez, the ex-wife of West Ham’s Luis Jimenez.
Ms Lopez - who hit headlines earlier this year for her involvement in a violent love triangle that earned her a divorce from Jimenez - finds herself back in the spotlight this morning, as she has been sacked from Controcampo.

The players who won’t make the grade at their new clubs

In the spirit of writing people off at an unreasonably early stage of the season, we asked Spoiler correspondent Joe Thompson to list the top ten newbies who are likely to struggle in 2009/10. Thankfully, he obliged…
Alberto Aquilani
(Roma to Liverpool, £20m)
‘What?! I’ve seen him on YouTube, he’s a maestro! Great vision, long range shooting! Like Gerrard with nice hair!’ True, but he’s also crocked enough to make Darren Anderton look like The Terminator. In all competitions, he’s made 90 starts in five seasons. Look at the YouTube compilations again, he’s got a different haircut in every clip. OK, he’s Italian - it proves nothing- but he doesn’t play much. At £20m, Benitez has taken a massive gamble. By the time he plays it’ll be nearly Christmas, and a crunching (or even soft) tackle away at Stoke or Bolton might mean he’s glad to get back to the comfort of the treatment room.
Ronald Zubar
(Marseille to Wolves, undisclosed)
Very few players are immortalised in a football expression– The ‘Cruyff’ Turn, The ‘Blanco’ Bounce and ‘Zubrelances’. The latter is a term the Marseille faithful coined to describe Zubar’s regular defensive howlers. He’s played for France U-21’s, but then Titus Bramble also played U-21 football when he was clowning around at Newcastle. Mick McCarthy is already ‘pleading for patience’ with his new signing - Wolves fans are going to need it.
Roque Santa Cruz
(Blackburn Rovers to Man City, £17m)
Initially, this looked like a great match. Hughes had long been giving him the eye after re-launching his career

TRANSFER TALK
The latest transfer gossip, rumours and damned lies…

Karim Benzema to Manchester United
Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas has conceded that while they don’t plan to sell Benzema this summer, they may receive an offer that is too good to turn down. Aulas explained his predicament with this rather wonderful analogy: “There is a tsunami called Real Madrid which provokes reactions at Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United.”
The Spoiler truth-o-meter: Sir Alex Ferguson has spoken of his admiration for the French striker before - comparing him to Zinedine Zidane - but he may delay a move until Carlos Tevez makes a decision on his future.
Jose Bosingwa to Bayern Munich
It looks like Chelsea are getting rid of one right-back who is good going forward but occasionally vulnerable defensively for another. Portsmouth have

The Chilean model who’s worth fighting for

Those who have been paying attention to The Spoiler may have noticed that Chilean model Maria Jose Lopez recently hit the headlines when she entangled herself in a football love triangle.
The generously-chested model was rumoured to have slept with Chilean international Mauricio Pinilla, which for some reason didn’t sit well with her husband, Inter Milan’s Luis Jimenez. The footballers crossed paths at a Santiago nightclub last week, and things got a little violent…

Sexy Violence News
Chilean internationals fight it out over attractive lady

It seems that Steven Gerrard isn’t the only one arguing with his fists over this festive period.
Inter Milan midfielder Luis Jimenez has held a grudge over fellow Chilean international Mauricio Pinilla after the South American press claimed the latter had slept with the former’s wife, extremely good looking model Maria Jose Lopez (pictured above).
A few days ago, the footballers happened to be enjoying the same Santiago nightclub during their respective Christmas breaks, when angry Jimenez reportedly attacked his love rival with a blunt instrument. After receiving three blows to the head, Pinilla was admitted to hospital with a head trauma and neck injuries.
Spoiler bonus: Awaiting paparazzi found the lady at the centre of the argument speeding away in her hideously unsubtle Hummer, and proved that they are even more intrusive than the British press when a reporter opened the door of her moving vehicle, forcing her to slow down and have her picture taken. Check out a video of the kerfuffle after the jump…
