The nation’s hottest WAG officially goes off the market

Having met Peter Crouch many times during his Southampton days, The Spoiler knows for a fact that he is a thoroughly decent chap, and undoubtedly one of the most genuine characters in the game today.

However, we can no longer hide the fact that we secretly hate the man who has somehow managed to persuade Abbey Clancy to spend the rest of her life with him. The Sun begrudgingly reports:

“He has been thinking about getting engaged for some time. But he wanted to wait for the ideal moment.

“As a bit of a romantic, he thought it would be a great idea to ask Abbey to marry him when it was just the two of them together in Sardinia.”

His agent Jonathan Barnett confirmed the pair are engaged.

After Crouchie “put a ring on it” in Sardinia, the couple then jetted off to Ibiza. It’s known known whether the Portsmouth star was wearing his ‘Luckiest bastard int he world’ T-shirt when he began his second holiday with one of the nation’s finest bikini wearing talents, but he damn well should have been.

Heather Swan finds modern way of parting with husband

If Hollywood films are to be believed, married couples only split up while driving in the rain, or when angrily throwing crockery around the kitchen as a child weeps in the next room. Michael Chopra and wife Heather Swan, however, have defied cinematic convention by using a social networking site to part with one another.

The couple - who have a son named Rocky - had a lavish £250,000 wedding last June. They are said to have bickered throughout their honeymoon, and Chopra moved into rented accommodation shortly after. The Mirror says Heather delivered the final blow to the on-loan Cardiff star by changing her relationship status on Facebook:

Reality TV star Heather Swan, 24, changed her status to single on the social website after just seven months of marriage and let others tell Michael.

The £30,000-a-week Sunderland striker, 25, hit back by axing her mobile phone contract, declaring on his own Facebook page: “Heather will have a new number tomorrow, ha ha.”

We had no idea divorces were this easy. If only Paul McCartney had been a Facebook member…

The hopelessly romantic Brazilian found love in Beijing

Tubby Brazilian star Ronaldinho had a relatively unspectacular Olympic tournament, but he made an effort to spice it up by asking 24-year-old Swedish footballer Johanna Almgren to marry him.

The thoroughly romantic AC Milan man popped the question using a translator, but not before attempting to seal the deal with his sexy moves. Spanish rag Marca reports:

“Ronaldinho came over to me, look me directly in the eyes, then took my hand and kissed it. Later on, his interpreter asked me to come up to his room.”
