Melanie Slade will appear in the next* Harry Potter flick
Melanie Slade burst on to the WAG scene in 2006, when she and the rest of the country’s finest supporting ladies did their best to distract England from winning anything. Since she started romancing weak-shouldered Arsenal favourite Theo Walcott, Miss Slade has been passing the hours with a physiotherapy degree, but according to The Mirror, the Southampton-based beauty has also found herself some gainful employment:
WAG Mel Slade - the girlfriend of England and Arsenal star Theo Walcott - has landed a role in the next Harry Potter film. Mel, 20, appears with Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part One.
In the movie, set for release in November 2010, Mel plays a pal of Hermione (Watson) as they watch a game of Quidditch - and she even gets to say some lines.
Mel may thank her fine acting talents for landing this role, but a healthy dollop of nepotism also had its part to play. The film’s director David Yates just happens to be the partner of Theo’s aunt Yvonne.
The Daily Mail have published a rather lengthy interview with Theo Walcott’s beau, Melanie Slade. The WAG reveals that the couple met at the Southampton branch of Claire’s Accessories, and that their first date as sixteen year old was a thoroughly romantic screening of Land of the Dead.
She also revealed an excellent method for away fans to irritate the weak-shouldered forward:
We were at a petrol station and when he came out of the shop after paying, his face was like thunder. I said to him, “What happened?” and he said, “They asked me if I was Lewis Hamilton!”
How dare the England manager attempt to keep our good WAGs down. These women didn’t spend weeks and months ironing their hair, painting liquid tan between their toes, and eating just the right amount of sliced carrot and dip for someone to come along and deny them five star treatment. It is their right, and they WILL have their revenge.
As a means of supporting them through this trying time, The Spoiler has assembled a small collection of WAG photography, and put it together as an homage to their kindness and beauty. Amongst them, you will find Clancy, Rives, Cole, Curran, Slade, McLoughlin. That’s right, all the greats.
England’s second favourite DB has a splendid ladyfriend
These days, it’s difficult for a WAG to resist the temptation to disrobe in a lads mag, sell holiday pictures to the tabloids and release a fitness DVD into what must be a thoroughly over-saturated market, yet one lady in doing a rather respectable job of keeping out of the limelight. David Bentley’s long-term girlfriend - and possible fiancée - Kimberley Mills is pictured above (right) with Melanie Slade (left) a charity event at White Hart Lane two years ago, but has otherwise managed to steer clear of the media radar.
Southampton’s premier WAG probably doesn’t even know who Noddy Holder is
Back in 2006, seventeen-year-old Melanie Slade was a modest young student who worked a Saturday job at a ‘Claire’s’ shop. On what you would hope is a rare trip to the girl’s accessories emporium, Theo Walcott spotted Mel, and made her WAG royalty on the spot. A few short months later, she was hanging out with Posh Spice at the World Cup, as the youngest member of the England WAG team.
