Red Devils have unique way of showing respect

UPDATE: eBay have now removed all Munich memorabilia scarves from their listings.

The powers that be at Manchester United were delighted to see both sets of fans pay their respects for those who died in the Munich Air Disaster on Sunday, but they didn’t count on the enterprising nature of their fans after the game.

A plastic package containing a striped scarf could be found on each of Old Trafford’s 76,000 seats (including 3,000 for the away supporters) which were meant to be displayed during the minute’s silence. But why take the scarf out of its packaging and ruin its integrity as a ‘pristine’ item on eBay?
