Roman Weidenfeller set upon in a restaurant

Those who thought only David Bentley was annoying enough to be attacked while eating in a restaurant will be rocked by news from German paper Bild, which claims that Borussia Dortmund’s goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller was beaten up in an eating establishment last night.
The 29-year-old was enjoying a salad and coverage of the Champions League in an Italian restaurant in Dortmund’s city centre when five men burst in, directing punches at the shot stopper. Weidenfeller said:
“They fought like savages at us. I was able to escape thanks to my good reflexes.”

Eatery Attack news
David Bentley forced to chow down on a knuckle sandwich

Despite having a very punchable face, Tottenham star David Bentley nearly made it 24 years without someone punching him in the face. This all changed over the weekend, however, when someone punched him in the face:
The Spurs midfielder, 24, had been enjoying a meal with Kimberly Mills [WAG link here] and another couple when a man walked up to their table after finishing his own dinner - and took a swing at him.
Stunned Bentley was left reeling in his chair as the attacker ran out of the restaurant.
According to Bentley’s agent Robert Segal, the attack at the swanky Nolita bar in Herts was premeditated, as the assailant had a taxi waiting outside for him.
The Daily Mirror fail to properly describe the attacker in their report, however an exclusive source has issued a description to The Spoiler. With brown hair and a medium build, the man is said to be a football manager in his sixties, who has been trying to sell a player called David Bentley ever since he started a job at a north London club.
If you have seen a man matching this description, do please get in touch.

Brekkin' The Law
Liverpool captain caught up in restaurant brawl

Obviously delighted with the two goals that helped embarrass Newcastle yesterday, Steven Gerrard MBE went to a restaurant on Bold Street, Southport, Merseyside. The night didn’t end well, however, as the Liverpool captain ended up in a brawl that led to his arrest:
Police were called at about 0230 GMT following a disturbance at a restaurant in Southport, Merseyside. Six men were detained later in a nearby street.
The men, four from Huyton, one from Formby and one from Litherland, remain in police custody.
A 34-year-old man from Southport was taken to hospital with facial injuries, not thought to be life-threatening.
The incident is alleged to have taken place at the Lounge Inn, on Bold Street, a restaurant and late night music venue.
It sounds like Stevie G may have been set upon by some local ruffians in some sort of Harry Enfield-esque “You fightin?” scenario, but quite why the assailants were brawling when they could have been robbing his mansion is anyone’s guess.
