Political Update
Legendary striker announces political affiliation

Since his mid-nineties peak as one of the greatest footballers in the world, Romario has made more ’shocking’ returns from retirement than we care to remember. In August, the 43-year-old Brazilian revealed his intention to dust off his boots later this month for América Football Club, in order to fulfill his father’s wish to see him turn out in their red jersey.
Despite his imminent return to the game and his recent legal troubles with child support payments and illegal betting networks, the former PSV and Barcelona star yesterday announced his affiliation with the Brazilian Socialist Party (PSB). While the party refrained from formally announcing Romario’s candidacy for the 2010 national elections, the Spanish press seem to believe that they will attempt to capitalise on the striker’s popularity in Brazil.
Spoiler bonus: Romario’s capacity for making love on planes and romancing strippers will surely help bring some much-needed sexiness to Brazilian politics.

WAG of the Day
Stripper, model, singer and Brazilian legend romancer

In 1994, Brazilian striker Romario was on top of the world: he was FIFA World Player of the Year, he won the World Cup and he finsihed the 1993/94 season as Barcelona’s top scorer. As one may expect of a footballer in his position, the Brazilian also did rather well with the ladies. He started a relationship with Sonia Monroy after admiring her work as a stripper, but they split soon after she claimed she was pregnant with his child.

I will follow Ronaldo
Yes, some crazy person had enough free time to make this
Admittedly, Sister Act/ footballer mash-ups are exactly common, but this is by far the best example we’ve seen. Stick with it until (2.40) for an angelic Cristiano Ronaldo solo.

Grid Crasher editor Ollie Irish steps in to tell us about Herr Schumacher’s latest post-F1 adventures…
Michael Schumacher had the chance to play in the first qualifying round of this season’s Champions League, but turned down the opportunity, no doubt so he could spend more time falling off a motorbike.
Schumacher has played for FC Echichens in the Swiss league, and was asked whether he would be available to play for San Marino champions SS Murata against FC Gothenburg in next week’s Champions League first qualifying round. Murata also want Brazilian legend Romario to play for them, but it seems unlikely that either man will pull

Brazilian striker gets to work on his legend

Brazilian striker Romario may have hung his boots up this month, but it seems he forgot to tell his mouth about it. While his departure from the game was hastened by a doping ban, which the great one claims was caused by some rogue element in his hair restorer, he seems determined to keep the spotlight firmly upon himself.
Appearing on a Brazilian chatshow called “Fantastico”, Romario wanted his fans to know that he once had sex on a plane while part of the Brazilian squad, somewhere over Switzerland.
He was also eager to confirm that retirement has in no way
