Forfeit
Could you imagine Fabio Capello singing ‘God Save the Queen’?
As a man who is apparently willing to bet against his own success, Socceroos coach Pim Verbeek agreed to sing the Australian national anthem on television if his side qualified for South Africa 2010. The Dutchman lived up to his word, and gave a cringe worthy performance that left Aussie’s ‘rejuicing’ their success.
The Spoiler appreciates a person who will carry out a forfeit - if only Gisele Bündchen had done the same when she promised to run through Manhattan naked if the New York Giants won the Super Bowl…

Invaded nation witnesses superb long range effort
The best goal of the European Championships thus far is undoubtedly Pepe’s opener against Turkey on Saturday, but elsewhere in the world an even more impressive strike hit the onion bag. The video above is from a World Cup qualifier between Australia and Iraq, where the latter’s Emad Mohammed banged one in from 35 yards.
Impressive stuff, particularly as the Aussies were one of the first nations to send troops to the conflictuous nation and they only pulled out last week.
