One may think The Spoiler is scraping the WAG barrel by dedicating a day to the former wife of a retired Lebanses-American basketball player, but a cursory glance at Mexican supermodel Elsa Benítez will prove otherwise. The 30-year-old beauty was married to Rony Seikaly (twelve years her senior) for nearly six years, but since 1995 has been bringing in the bacon for herself with high profile photoshoots with Vogue, Elle, Victoria’s Secret and various other arty publications that make it justifiable for her to show the world her boobs.
For those uninitiated into US culture, softball is their version of women’s cricket. Unlike cricket, however, it’s considered worthy of Olympic inclusion, and Jennie is the proud owner of a shiny gold medal from the last games in Athens.
Besides being a glorious golden haired pitcher, Jennie has much to be proud of. Namely, her appearance on the American celebrity version of The Apprentice, where she came face-to-face with one of the world’s most ungodly bastards, Donald Trump - he fired her in January. She also has an interesting and athletic body, deemed worthy of inclusion in Sports Illustrated.
Tragic injustice struck the world’s greatest WAG Giorgia Palmas yesterday, as she narrowly scraped a victory on The Spoiler, and suffered a crushing defeat over at On205th. It’s criminal, and I have no idea how Terrie B (who?) will sleep at night after learning of her success. (Actually, it will probably be next to a handsome sportsman on top of a large pile of money.)
Today, Andy Roddick’s swimsuit model wife-to-be takes on Gianluigi Buffon’s former Miss Czech Republic…

Okay, so Brooklyn Decker isn’t strictly a female tennis player. In fact, whether she has ever played tennis or not isn’t even known. Not by anyone. But what we do know is that she’s engaged to Andy Roddick - he’s the big serving American hopeful who tumbled out of Wimbledon just yesterday, putting paid to any chance of catching a glimpse of her in the crowd. What an idiot.
Is this long swan-like woman the next Wimbledon winner?
Anyone who has lived in a box or a monastery for the last few years might never have heard of Maria Sharapova, but here she is. She’s already won Wimbledon once - back in the windy summer of 2004, when everything was brilliant and Wayne Rooney was still a good football player. Tremendous days.
Not only has the former world number one had to endure the hell of an international tennis career (he’s been off form lately, but currently riding high at the Miami Open), but his elbow is constantly being tugged by beautiful women. After parting ways with actress Mandy Moore, he stumbled upon nineteen-year-old model Brooklyn Decker, no doubt while absent-mindedly working through a copy of Sports Illustrated. Their love has blossomed, and now A-Rod will get unlimited access to the hottest WAG in tennis, as they announced their engagement yesterday.
If you are under the impression that hundreds of thousands of yanks pay good money to just to watch some crappy saloons turn left for three hours, you were wrong. Having seen Talladega Nights on DVD twice, I can say with some authority that the wives and girlfriends of hick NASCAR drivers are, without exception, the finest better halves of any sport. Leading by example is Ingrid Vandebosch, a Belgian model who is married to wheel jockey Jeff Gordon. She is currently the centrepiece of the athlete’s wives section in this month’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue (yes, the one with Marissa Miller on’t cover).
Long now has the debate raged over whether the American publication Sports Illustrated is more about sport, or more about illustration. And this Valentine’s Day that arguement has once again been thrown wide open with the arrival of the much-anticipated swimsuit edition.
Inside there are pages and pages of young sportswomen (their chosen sport: modelling) draped about their chosen sporting venue (a gorgeous sandy beach), attired only in what the good Lord granted them… and some swimming togs.
In the case of Marisa Miller (pictured), some of the snaps have her wearing a hilarious painted on swimming costume. Seriously, you just couldn’t make it up.
So, sport or illustration? Let us know with your comments.
Sports Illustrated magazine have compiled their annual sports rich list, which Tiger Woods dominates for the second year running. He banked nearly $112million last year, which is over $12,700 an hour. That’s a lot of tees.
They also publish a list of the top 20 non-American earners, the results of which are quite surprising: Beckham is fifth and only one Premier League player makes the top ten:
1. Fernando Alonso. Auto Racing. $35m.
2. Ronaldinho. Barcelona. $32.7m.
3. Roger Federer. Tennis. $31.3m.
4. Valentino Rossi. Motor Sports. $30m.
5. David Beckham. Real Madrid/LA Galaxy. $29.7m.
