The Spoiler

Have Milan already beaten Chelsea and Man City for Thiago Silva’s signature?

Brazilian defender is poised to join a European side

Thiago Silva’s Wikipedia page currently states that he has agreed to sign a four year contract with AC Milan, depending on a medical to be held on Sunday. The 24-year-old Fluminese star, however, is also reported to be a target of Chelsea (who need a replacement for Alex) and Manchester City (who feel the need to offload a shedload of cash that he’s been burning a hole in their pockets since the last window).

The Sun “exclusively” claim the centre back will join Big Phil’s men, while the man himself has spoken of a Robinho endorsement in The Telegraph:

“They have also started to show Manchester City games in Brazil because of Robinho.

“He told me he was going to suggest me to City. It is the best help you can get, coming from the star of the team. It is a privilege.”

The speedy defender could cost as little as £3m as he will soon be out of contract, but the race to snap him up will undoubtedly inflate his price.

Transfer Talk: Ramos hints at a Ledley King adios

With Berbatov bound for the exit, it looks like Ledley King - aka. Mr Tottenham - could be joining him.

The feeling is that Ramos is going to spend the summer refashioning the team that he inherited from Martin Jol. Rumours have been flying around that Lennon, Huddlestone and Jenas will all be surplus to requirements at the new look Spurs, and now, by not confirming King as next season’s skipper, it looks like the Ramos overhaul is going to be even more gigantic than expected.

And who could blame him?

Berbatov eyes up the exit, but where should he go?

berbs.jpg

In a spectacularly predictable turn of events, contract talks between Dimitar Berbatov and the people in suits who run Spurs have broken down. What “broken down” means is never clear, what is clear is that Berbatov can’t possibly be at Tottenham next term.

What was supposed to be a whopper of a year for Spurs - Lennon flying down the flank, Darren Bent joining the “best quartet of strikers in the land”, Berbs on fire - has turned into a massive let-down. The Carling Cup goes somewhere to soothing the pain, but it surely won’t be enough to keep hold of their best Bulgarian.
