WAG of the Day
The Croatian beauty who’s had one too many WKD Blues

While things are in crisis at White Hart Lane, it’s good to see some of the WAGs are on their worst behaviour. Our besties at Kickette have alerted us to Vedran Corluka’s 21-year-old fiancée Iva Buzov, who has whipped up a storm in her home nation (Croatia) because a rather embarrassing video has surfaced:

In case you were wondering, the controversy isn’t because she has clearly raided a stripper’s wardrobe for her evening ensemble or that the camera operator is clearly obsessed with her chest area, but that she’s stinking drunk. When a car passes, she blurts out: “Oh my God, is that my Dad?” Let’s hope it isn’t, dear.

DIFFERING POLICIES
Profit collected at White Hart Lane’s revolving door

It was revealed today on Sky Sports that just four Premier League teams made a profit over the summer and not one of them was Arsenal.
Blackburn made a net gain thanks to the £15 million they received for David Bentley and West Ham made the biggest profit of anyone after selling half of their first team. It is also being claimed that Chelsea made a profit but The Spoiler’s calculator doesn’t come to that conclusion (surely the £24.2 million spent on Deco and Jose Bosingwa exceeds the £19 million gained on Shaun Wright-Phillips, Steve Sidwell and Tal Ben-Haim?). The other team to have received more than they spent were Tottenham.

Money Splurge!
It’s not even lunchtime, everyone’s going transfer bonkers!

News has just filtered in that Tottenham - this morning’s early birds pecking feverishly away at the transfer window - have just snatched Vedran Corluka for a tidy little sum (rumoured to be around the £8 million mark). A right back or central defender, he should be set for a busy season watching King and Woodgate taking it in turns to run into the club infirmary, clutching a leg and sobbing wildly.
The versatile defender marked his intention to leave City by hurling his top into the crowd after the weekend’s game against Sunderland. Nice move.

Transfer talk
Today’s gossip, rumours and damned lies

In spite of Thaksin’s Shinawatra’s alleged financial misdemeanours, the sky blue Manchester club still have cash to splash. Having dodged the Ronaldinho bullet, Citeh are reportedly interested in making Henry a “box office” signing come January, whatever that means. The Frenchman, however, has said there is only one English club he will return to, and a non-big four move surely wouldn’t be enough to bring him back from Spain.
Anton Ferdinand to Sunderland
In a summer of painfully protracted transfer sagas, Anton Ferdinand is the latest poor soul to be left wondering where his future lies. Sunderland have been after the centre-half for weeks and assuming that they can convince him that Wearside has a better nightclub than Faces (perhaps this one), the under 21 international will be scurrying off to make friends with Roy Keane.

Transfer Talk
Today’s gossip, rumours and damned lies

Whereas bit-part players like Wayne Bridge are being made to feel like superstars, Chelsea fans’ Player of the Year Joe Cole apparently doesn’t know where he stands with Luiz Felipe Scolari. Liverpool desperately need wingers and are thought to have expressed interest, although a transfer would appear highly unlikely, at least until that whole Gareth Barry kerfuffle is sorted out.
Stephen Warnock to Newcastle
Titus Bramble and Stephen Carr prove that Newcastle’s purchases of British defenders haven’t been too hot recently, but a move for Warnock could change all that. Warnock shone at Blackburn last season and received his first England cap this summer.
The Spoiler Truth-o-meter: Ince would rather avoid selling a regular this close to the season starting
Stephen Appiah to Portsmouth
Harry Redknapp looks likely to beat former club West Ham to the signature of the headline makers dream. Look out over the next few days for the tabloid headline: “Pompey couldn’t be Appiah about new signing”.
